Deal Orchards
Deal Orchards is a third-generation family-owned orchard offering apples (including dried), peaches, nectarines, and pears, and smaller amounts of garden fruits and vegetables including watermelon. One-quarter of their acreage is "EcoCertified", which is a third-party audited program that requires use of integratred pest management, emphasizes soil health and pollinator protection, and eliminates use of certain chemistries. Mountain Works is a seventh-generation family farm in Zionville, NC using conservation methods to produce and bring to Market grass-fed beef and lamb. Additionally, they manage forests for conservation value and local timber product, and build artisan timber frame homes and structures using timber that they mill.
